Soy Vago ¿Y Qué? Is a painting series that provides a visual representation of the artist’s encounters throughout his life. The artist showcases his truths, rebellion and spiritual discovery through abstract pieces of art that embody his emotions. The pieces in this exhibition describe the importance of reflecting on the ordinary, expressing joy or sorrow within the complexities of living. Navarrete’s paintings represent how both simplicity and difficulties in life have the ability to evoke personal growth.

Kai Navarrete’s exhibition’s focus on individuality and personal growth was also represented during the opening reception of Soy Vago ¿Y Qué? Navarrete, being a native of Guerrero, Mexico, celebrates his culture through art, music and food that represents his heritage. Opening receptions of art exhibitions have a reputation of being sterile and serious, focusing very little on the atmosphere surrounding the art. Whereas, the opening reception of Soy Vago ¿Y Qué? Expressed an exciting and inviting ambience for the gallery visitors. Navarrete’s art was complemented by upbeat traditional Mexican music performed by GRUPO MGH, and delicious refreshments from Taquito bar. The combination of art, music and food created an immersive cultural experience, which expressed Kai Navarrete’s message of identity and was enjoyable for the whole community.
